SoF 2 Demo News
by Maarten Goldstein, Mar 31, 2002 7:08am PSTWe'll have a Soldier of Fortune 2 interview for you all on Tuesday, but I wanted to mention something from the interview already. Seeing how there isn't gonna be a whole lot of news today. Raven hadn't really confirmed any plans for a demo yet. Kenn Hoekstra however mentioned to me they are looking at releasing a multiplayer test soon, similar to what was released for Return to Castle Wolfenstein. There aren't any plans for an official demo yet though, as the team would rather finish the full game first.

The reason I haven't picked up JKII is the same reason I usually don't pick up Raven games when they first come out. They do a decent job of cranking out assembly line games that at least don't suck, but nothing in the league of a Doom, Duke Nukem, Unreal, Deus Ex, etc. From the mixed signals I have read on this board, it seems that they have held true to form. Their games are better than bargain bin games, but I would never pay full price for one. It's better to wait for the price to come down.

I didn't like SoF1, but Heretic 2 owned me too bad back in the day and it
has totally clouded my judgement with positive hopes :p
I've never really been able to figure out why more people don't play it, especially shackers. It's fast, the weapons all kick ass, and it's fun as hell.

The multiplayer demo intrigues me...I was never a fan of SOF multi...i enjoyed it but it just didn't feel right to me...(loved SP)...so we shall be able to see quickly if it's all good or not..
