  • Is a gnutella-like MMORPG a feasible idea? I know cheating would be an issue, it always is, but it seems like most of SOE/Verant's money is going to bandwidth and server upkeep.

    You'd think with the shared-resource/bandwidth technology like gnutella someone could figure out a way to make a persistant online game that has no central server or if anything, very few central servers for login/storing characters.

    I dunno, the pricing structure simply has to change or it could eventually get out of hand. (i.e. $40/month for EQ Legends) I love the genre far too much to see it slip into a game only played by rich white boys with platinum visa cards.
