Evening Reading
by Maarten Goldstein, Mar 21, 2002 5:03pm PSTSorry for being a little behind on news for a while after noon. Steve's stepdad happened to be visiting the country this week for biz stuff (trying to convince the Dutch government to buy lots of Joint Strike Fighters), and we had dinner together tonight. The place was a good hour away for me though and I actually managed to get lost for a while on my way back. It was an adventure or something.
- Looks like Pam Anderson has hepatitis C. Sucks. - Two people have been convicted for a murder, the thing is their dog commited the crime. - Saddam Hussein, novel writer. - Celebrity boxing was a hit for Fox, their next thing is amateur nude modeling. - The new Lara Croft model is Dutch, wooh.Lastly, they're still trying to ban devices that can copy copyrighted works. Thanks Matt.

What's the bassiest song in your mp3 collection? (subwoofer tests, special "thumpin' basslines" albums, and waves generated in FruityLoops, SoundForge, etc. don't count; it must be a song)
Me: Spahn Ranch - Monochrome

Each State has two senators, right? Do these senators represent the entire state, or is it split in half? I.e. if Dianne Feinstein, from California, co-sponsers a draconian copy-protection bill, she's more likely to listen to her own constituents objections -- so is her area the entire state or part of it? I ask because I'm an American citizen abroad, and my home state is California, specifically I can vote in federal elections for San Jose.

This is the intro teaser to the NWN story. It's not the official one, but it was written by a bioware guy and posted.
Lady Aribeth has a special connection to the city's elven founder, Lord Halueth Never. His tomb, long since lost, is said to be guarded by the swords of his 12 sons who have died, one by one, and taken their place beside him. The youngest of these sons, Aertriin Never, still serves as Neverwinter's protector and the Commander of its respected militia. Having to order that same militia upon its own citizenry, driven mad by the Wailing Death or eager to break quarantine and escape its clutches, has not been an easy or an honorable task. But Lady Aribeth and Lord Nasher, even Khelben 'Blackstaff' Arunsun himself, have convinced him that the dirty deed is necessary -- and so his militia line the walls of the city that his father once founded, their crossbows trained upon its infested streets.
