Late Night Consoling
by jason bergman, Mar 18, 2002 8:30pm PSTThis story at Computer and Video Games claims that Unreal Championship will require a subscription for online multiplayer. Don't believe it - we've confirmed with Epic's Mark Rein that there is zero truth to this story, and that the game will absolutely not have any subscription fees. The mix-up is due to an Infogrames promotional item that said online multiplayer will be "subject to subscription fees." This seems like an accidental confusion, as chances are it was meant to read, "subject to ISP subscription fees" which is a common disclaimer with multiplayer games.
- If you can get 'em to load, here they are: the first screenshots from Pokemon for the Game Boy Advance.
- GameSpot has posted a detailed look at The Lost, the upcoming PS2 game from the people behind System Shock 2 and the soon-to-be-released Freedom Force.
- First came Metal Gear Solid 2, and now Final Fantasy X is the latest game to get souped up for its European debut. The version of the game that will be released over there in May will feature the extras from the International version of the game that was released in Japan, along with a second disc with bonus material.
- In other FF news, the Japanese beta of Final Fantasy XI will end on April 24th, just a few weeks before it officially launches on May 16th.
- If you're desperate for more on Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, you can find a "Director's Cut" of the recently released teaser on the game's official site.
- Looking forward to Star Fox Adventures: Dinosaur Planet? You're gonna have to wait a bit longer, as the game has been pushed back yet again, this time to September.
- Another GameCube release date that's been thrown around a bit is Capcom's Resident Evil remake, but IGN has confirmed that the game will hit the streets on April 30th, and not the May 21st date listed on some web sites (including Capcom's own). On a related note, PlanetGameCube has translated a Q&A with the game's producer.
- A hands-on preview of Black & Bruised, a very Punch Out-like boxing game from Majesco is up at GameSpot tonight.
- Apparently there is still a chance that Phantasy Star Online for the GameCube might not be playable online when it is initially released.

I really hope this game will also be released for the PC
I've since picked up all of my party members and am continuing on nicely. It's not a bad game -- it definitely has better graphics than Final Fantasy or Dragon Warrior, although the maze-like 3D dungeons are totally unforgiving in their arbitrariness. The music is monotonous, but forgiveable since it's so old. I'm going to keep going and get through this game so I can continue on in the series. Hopefully I will enjoy the rest of the journey.
P.S. Lassic sucks

FAct.. YOu will all have to Pay money to play UC online. Its called Ms is supplying the servers for the service. It's a service for all GAmes played online with Xbox.
UC is going to be one of the launch titles for this service. And that's why this information came out.
So End result is.. xbox owners will still have to play 10 bucks a month to play UC online.
Epic isn't getting a penny. But MS is.
Its amazing how illiterate folks can be when they don't want to use logic and common sense.

I played Zelda 2 and hated it
I played through SNES Zelda and was blown away
I played through Link's Awakening and fell in love with it
I played both N64 titles but since I dont own an N64, never REALLY played them
Of all of them, I think I enjoyed Link's Awakening the most. I would say SNES Zelda was better but for misc. reasons - I enjoyed Link's Awakening more then most video games Ive ever played
