Unreal Name Changes
by Maarten Goldstein, Mar 15, 2002 6:56pm PSTGamespot is reporting that both upcoming PC Unreal games will undergo name changes. On Monday, Infogrames should announce that Unreal 2 is now Unreal Episode 2 and Unreal Tournament 2 is Unreal Tournament 2003. This will be done to clear up some confusion over differences between the two games. Additionally, Infogrames should reveal plans for a yearly version of Unreal Tournament.

Unreal Episode 2 sounds too similar to something else, which is exactly what they wanted to avoid. Heck, it sounds like a name for an expansion. At least now people won't be thinking that you're talking about a band or saying "you too" in Netspeak or talking about military aircraft.

This whole *Unreal* engine hype bs is starting to get really annoying. Yes we know there are a lot of Unreal engine games coming out, must we be reminded every fucking day? Oh yeah BTW nice move licensing your tech to the collectively shallow gene pool known as Running With Scissors. That move alone makes me want to poke my eyes out with a rusty spork every time I see the word Unreal.

Er.. so UT takes place in the yeat 2291 or something, and the sequel is being called UT 2003, but it's being released in 2002. Are they on crack or something? UT2. Woo, that's so hard to remember.
