VIA Launches P4X333 Chipset

VIA has been sending out various press releases today. One of which announces the new P4X333 chipset. You guessed it, DDR333 memory support for the Pentium 4. Read more here. If you wanna read about their other announcements: mobile C3 CPU, Ethernet switch and an USB 2.0 card.

my dislike of VIA aside, the P4 (unlike the Althon) will actually seriously benefit from this extra bandwidth.

I can see the P4X333 leapfrogging the i850/Rdram combination for a while.

  exactly, if i wanted a p4 mobo i would probably get a sis 645 and 512 of ddr333. : Turd Ferguson

I'm dying to know why we aren't running 400 mhz DDR already. If a $299 GF4 Ti4400 can have 128mb of 275mhz memory, wtf are we doing still putzing around with 166mhz system memory?
