On Unreal 2 Delay

As mentioned yesterday, Unreal 2 is now due around Christmas time instead of May / June which many people expected. Mark Rein says "Unreal2 will stand up to any FPS game no matter who makes it or what tech it uses. I'm not saying that to disparage anyone else's game or tech - there will be lots of great FPS games this year that we'll all play and enjoy - but Unreal2 will answer to no one".

Bottom line: not ready to ship for probably 1000 different reasons.
Unreal 2 (if it ships this christmas, call me a skeptic)
Duke Nukem Forever (not a Duke fan, but it will be out this Christmas, call it intuition- 3DR can't hold it back anymore).
No One Lives Forever 2
Half-Life 2 (I have a feeling we'll be seeing this at E3).
Doom won't make it until Christmas 2003.
Deus Ex 2 will probably miss as well this Christmas.
I'm pretty certain of this line-up.

Epic isn't developing EITHER of these (UT2 is DE and U2 is Legend). He's not saying "The game I am making will own j00!!". He's saying "I was just over at Legend, and they blew me away! Their game will be kickass."
Comparing his statement to Romero's "Make you its bitch" ad campaign is just silly.
