C&C Renegade Ships

Gameguru says it's slow and laggy, and needs a 1 Gig + GeF 3 system. There are enough comments around here saying essentially the same thing that I'll pass on this one.

So what if C&C is buggy or laggy. All FPS games are crash prone when first released (with the possible exception of any code given the Carmack touch), and it seems that all current servers are Win based (FOOLS); when the dedicated server patch for linux is released, along with netcode patchs these problems should disappear. Anyways the biggest thing about C&C which puts it above the rest of the competition like Wolf HL and soon to be released U2 is the gameplay. C&C gives a nice little twist to the FPS genre with the addition of a working base that provides more than just a shield from splash attacks. Treat it well and harvest resources and you can build large tanks to squish people with. Now I'm no C&C RTS fan, I never actually owned any of the games (I will admit though that Starcraft and Warcraft 2 are the bitch) but compared to all the cookie cutter FPS games that just tout better graphics, C&C will be an interesting twist for old FPS gamers like me.

Its very laggy, I was walking around and warping back 70% of the time on all of the west coast servers. Its not fun at all trying to drive a tank while warping around onto rocks and shit. Think netquake network code and you have a decent idea of how it plays.

The singleplayer in this game sucks poo

where is the cheapest place to get this? Almost everywhere is 45 and up? Anybody seen it cheaper somewhere else?
