Asheron's Call 2 Unveiled
by Maarten Goldstein, Feb 26, 2002 7:31am PSTGamespy has a Jeff Anderson interview, talking to the Turbine Games CEO about their new MMORPG, Asheron's Call 2. Fileplanet is also hosting a 11mb movie showing footage from the game. Meanwhile, at Gamespy Daily is an article by Turbine's Jason Booth who writes about all the new engine features.
GameSpy: Player housing was the latest big addition to the AC world. Will there be player housing in Asheron's Call 2, and will it work the same way? Jeff Anderson: We're very proud of the fact that AC is the only MMP with 3D housing today. It is an enormously popular feature with our fans. In fact, we're planning to do even more with housing in AC2 when the time comes. But, as you can guess from AC2's fiction, people aren't going to be building houses when the game first launches. They are going to be focused on rebuilding the existing buildings and exploring the ruins on Dereth. In other words, player housing will be rolled out when the game world is ready for it.
