Renegade Gets Flying Vehicles

Westwood let us know they are currently testing two new multiplayer levels for their imminent action game C&C Renegade. These maps will include flying units, currently not included with the game. If you are wondering what these units will be, they are taken from the original C&C RTS game.

- The GDI Orca, an advanced helicopter armed with powerful chain guns and missiles. - The Nod Apache attack helicopter, also armed with chain guns and missiles. - The Chinook troop transport, a large helicopter that can carry five troops. Both Nod and GDI will have this versions of this vehicle.

The retail version of C&C Renegade should be shipping to stores tomorrow.

How many hours of playtime will the average player get out of this game? I heard it only has a dozen missions, which would be alright if each mission was very long. The problem is that the folks in the preview movie at Spelletjes Garnaal completed the first level in less than 5 minutes. I assume the later missions are much longer/harder? I can hear Shack bitching right now if thereÂ’s less game than even Max Payne...

So, with all the patches to the demo (and after the game shipped to manufacturing, natch) and these announced updates, what I'm seeing is that C&C Renegade will be nigh-unplayable for the first few weeks (months), yes?

yeah this was one of the many things I didn't like about during the beta testing period, the game still is fun though, except for the god aweful textures for the terrain, yuck.

I really hope that Westwood had time to fix all of the demo's issues.
This seems like a really quick turnaround for a game that demoed with the kinds of flaws that Renegade did.
