World of Warcraft Preview

The guys at Gamespy made a little trip to Paris, France where they got to see World of Warcraft. For those not in the know, World of Warcraft is Blizzard's upcoming MMORPG set in the Warcraft world. The preview contains quote a few new bits of information thanks to quotes from the producer and impressions from a demo that was shown. New screenshots are included with the preview.

"World of Warcraft uses a state of art 3D engine," explains Dabiri, "therefore we have a complex lighting system and particle effects. Spells will have their own specific look and feel as well as magical weapons and items." But what took our breath away was when Dabiri took us into Duskwood, an area in Azeroth. "Duskwood is sorta like a Sleepy Hollow or Transylvania type of place," says Dabiri, "real gloomy. As you can see while we're walking deeper in to Duskwood, you'll notice the sky getting darker. If you look into the darkness, you can see little red eyes looking at you."
