theres a registry setting that allows the geforce 2 (and older cards?) to emulate the geforce3. its slow obviously, but it does work. i ran the gf3 fortune teller demo thingy with my gf2gts, it was ass slow, but worked. not sure of the registry setting, i used this thing called the geforce tweak utility http://www.geforcetweak.com/ but its not working anymore cause of the newer drivers im using, and im too lazy to revert back to older drivers. maybe someone else here can give that a go and tell us if it works, and how well.

Engine looks kind of cool, but the dumb thing took like 5min to load the demo, (I KID YOU NOT).

And its SLOW in some spots. REALLY slow. like 1-2fps.

K that not only runs like ass, the entire game jus looks like it. The lights arent even dynamic and the textures are awful. Time to delete this stinkin pile. Whoever compared this to Doom3 needs to lay off the crack pipe.

slight problem... after a minute or so you start falling through the floor... hehehe...and you cant manipulate controls and i use inversed mouse and it isnt there so...kind of hard. Looks good. that pretty much all you can conclude from this...

Uh, Doom 3? Yeah, okay. Must have been someone at the Helen Keller Institute who made that comparison. It looks nice, but doesn't appear to have anywhere near the detail/polygons of that crappy low quality Doom 3 footage. Of course screenshots can't show you what it really looks like, but so far IMHO Doom it's not... it looks good, but no better than many other FPS's out/in development.

Well, its very definitely alpha. I dunno, the visuals are pretty good, though everything is pretty dark so its hard to make it details. The knife is bumpmapped which is encouraging. Performance on my 1ghz/Ti200 is.... decent. Until you encounter the enemies or fire a grenade where framerate plummets to, i kid you not, 1-5 fps. Still its clearly a bug and not indicative of the general engine performance. Lots of clipping problems (which the readme states flat out), lots of places where you can fall through the level.

Still, will be interesting to see the real demo. Provided Unreal2 doesnt kill off all anticipation when its released in late spring/early summer (barring delays).

well i finally got it downloaded and installed. not only is this "optimized" for the geforce 3, it quits if you dont have one. i have a geforce 2 and no go, it just quits. so dont bother with this unless you have a geforce 3.

170 megs; probably something to leave to the people on fast connections with a GF3 who are willing to burn off some serious time downloading something. I have the resources and the bandwidth (maybe), but not the time.
