Condition Zero Approaches

Here's a PR announcing the official release quarter for Counter-Strike: Condition Zero. They have narrowed down the release time frame for the game to a 3 month period between April and June of this year.

I've been working on a preview of Condition Zero which will contain a couple of gameplay surprises after visiting GearBox last week. I'm also gonna shoot for some additional media (level fly-throughs) like Maarten's DOD2 preview since those were so cool. That probably wont happen until next week now looking at the current situation though. Doh.

I have a terrible feeling that at higher difficulty settings (I assume they'll have skill settings, like easy/medium/hard) the AI will not move more intelligently or use smarter tactics, but just aim better. IOW, an easy bot might act almost like a newbie human except it won't act lame. But a hard bot will move like an easy bot but with rail aim.

I'm sure the AI will be decent, but I kinda doubt it's really going to be done the way it should.

More deadhorse beating...blah...Who cares? To make it worse they have terrible additions to the game in this thing with the suicide belt and such.

This is coming from someone who played CS from Beta 1 to Beta 3 and then again from Beta 6 to just before 1.0 came out.

I really hope this thing flops so the game industry will actually consider trying to come up with something fresh.

This game gives me absolutely no excitement vibe. I can't imagine anything that would make me eager to play. They need to release a cool in-game vid of something happening cause it just seems like a single player mod. But maybe its just me and the remaining CS whores will gobble it up the second its released.

i hope they crank up the detail on the models and textures in this. half life is nice and all, but it looks like poo compared some of the new games. i wouldn't mind shelling out for a hardware upgrade if it made the game look significantly better.

Does anyone even care about CS anymore? I thought CS died like nine months ago when all the "KEKEKE PWNED J00 AWP"ers took over all the pub servers and all the private servers were full of "leet veteran better-than-you" players.
