Dungeon Siege Interview
by Maarten Goldstein, Feb 11, 2002 9:36am PSTThere is a Dungeon Siege interview on MGON, which has Chris Taylor answering questions about the upcoming RPG and others questions not related to his game. They ask about his decision to make an RPG instead of another RTS, the coolest feature in the game, if the PC will continue to be a viable games platform, if there were any "funny" bugs in the game, how character development is managed and lots more.
MGON: Why has Dungeon Siege slipped a bit deadline wise? Chris: The game was delayed because we had gotten to a point where we were ‘feature complete’, in December and then we sent the game off to the usability (quality control) labs, where they came back at us in January with a host of comments which meant there was more to be done to make the interface even more flexible and user friendly. This saw the game slipping while more elements were added. It was a headache, but it was very much worth it.

A lot of gamers say game reviews don't or shouldn't affect your decision to buy a game, yet these days with overhyping and misleading self-description, and an average $50 price tag, I need someone to take the plunge before I do.
It's hurts to buy a game that is not what you thought it was, or contains significantly less of what it claims to have had.
For me, those who still cling to the adage 'if you haven't bought it, then don't slam it' are a fading minority.
How many times do you need to drop cash on a disappointing title, only to find yourself wishing you could return it a week later?
Let's pray Dungeon Seige satisfies and lives up to it's own spin.
Thanks!
