I'm sure most of these gaming jobs are just that....JOBS. Most of us have this romantic image of game developers playin hacky sack, shooting nurf guns and casually coming up with cutting edge cool stuff. But in reality its like any other software job working for the man. Deadlines and long hours. Unless you really love making games it is by far more fun to play them then to make them!!!

Whenever I see a job posting like this, I cant help but think of the fact that Valve probably gets thousands of emails saying "IVE BEEN PLAYING HALFLIFE FOR A LONG TIME AND I THINK ID MAKE A GOOD PART OF YOUR TIME AND ID LIKE TO WORK FOR YOUR COMPANY SO GET BACK TO ME SO I CAN START PACKING FOR THE TRIP BUT ANSWER FAST BECAUSE I HAVE TO ASK MY MOM FIRST!!!!!!" :)

Getting to work for Valve must be alot like getting the golden ticket for Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory - It's the only way you'll find out what the hell it is they're working on. I'm sure you'll be sucked into some bizarre twisted metaphor of a punishment for divulging any information about it.
