So I installed Medal of Honor last night but am saving it for the weekend. It's getting pretty incredibly annoying these days that every PC game release has a patch come out. I realize the difficulty PC developers face with such a wide variety of hardware to support, but it appears to me that a lot of the patches these days arent even instability issues but other things. (Like a god mode cheat in Medal of Honor). Can anyone recall the last high profile PC game to be released that didnt have a patch? That Cheating Q&A was a bunch of fluffy answers yesterday wasnt it? I guess we cant really expect Valve to give specifics on their anti-cheating measures. The only thing I think we all care about is when it's gonna be released. I managed to use the miracle of tape on my hands climbing yesterday, not tearing them up any more. Just horribly sore twice a week but supposedly it's good for me or something. Movie: My mom's not home. She had to take my brother to the hospital. My grandma dropped acid this morning, and she was really stressed out. She hijacked a busload full of... penguins. It's sort of a family crisis.

Favorite movie villains?

Me: Darth Vader, T-1000, The Joker, Hannibal Lecter.

I think every one of them outshined the hero in the movie, with the exception of Robert Patrick as the T-1000. He was tag-teamed by Linda Hamilton and Arnold Schwarzenegger, he just couldn't compete. :)

I don't see the problem with patches, as long as one thing is certain: the game in question should be playable from start to finish in single player with no major hiccups on release. I can think of several games that were like that.

Return to Castle Wolfenstein
Baludr's Gate II
Ultima IX (just kidding. ;))
Black and White
The Sims
StarCraft
Red Alert II
Age of Empires
Age of Kings

.... hmmm, come to think of it, most games that come out are completely playable from start to finish in single player mode on most machines. Otherwise they are hardware related, and that is forgivable. What is important is that Joe Six Pack can go to Wal-Mart and get Need For Speed Whatever or Who Wants to be a Millionaire, and they work right out of the box from start to finish. If that is achieved, then PC games are on the same grounds as console games. Ease up on the developers just because they try to fix minor issues or add features and multiplayer related fixes to their games. Patches, most times, aren't mandatory, unless you need them to connect to a patched server.

Well'ums,I have powerstrip beta 3.12 running-a much improved program from the one I use a few years back.I'm also messing around with Vulpine GLmarks,cool benchmark tool and the chick looks hot,plus winrar beta 3-which I have installed but haven't used as of now...Looks nice in XP.

We have another cheater on CS, this time NYC server. Goes by the name of Hello. WONID: 1887163

Fortunately he wasn't very good (spray + pray and miss a lot) so he was only leading the teams by about 10 frags, but it was clear he was seeing through walls.

Wow, Amelie was pretty good. It has a Magnolia/Moulin Rouge type of feel to it but it's not nearly as bad or pretentious as those two. Didn't like it at first but it kinda grows on you after a while.
