It's being developed by the guys at Sunstorm Interactive and will offer 8 missions at $25 when its released in stores later this year.
Duke Nukem: Manhattan Project is an all-new PC game starring gamingÂ’s king of action. Set in New York City, Duke battles his way across towering skyscraper rooftops and through gritty subway tunnels on the hunt for power-hungry villain, Mech Morphix. Mutants of every kind are thrown at Duke, including Pigcops, as he chases down Morphix through eight huge environments and avoids the green slime called G.L.O.P.P. that is causing all the chaos. DonÂ’t let the realistic environments distract you, because there are 14 uniquely dangerous mutated enemies hell-bent on making a meal of Duke. From Uzi-sporting alligators to ten-foot tall roach beasts--DukeÂ’s in town to blast bugs and save babes. [read more]

I mean, the console titles sucked ass, but were released at full price. Where's the logic?

"gaming's king of action"?
please!
it's been so long since Duke Nukem was a current title that there is a whole new generation of gamers who have never even heard of it.
sort of like Michael Jackson still trying to refer to himself as the King Of Pop.

This was originally not suppose to be a retail title. When it was first announced a year ago, it was only going to be available via ESD (electronic software distribution), meaning that you would have to pay for and download the individual "webisodes" from Arush's website. We wanted to give ESD a try, and this seemed like a good avenue.
But, as the game was being made it was turning into something that was a lot more cool and fun than we originally thought it would be. Arush asked to renogotiate their agreement with us to allow for the game to go retail, and we agreed, but only at a valueware price, similar to Serious Sam.
A lot of us in the office are playtesting it and it's a fun game, though it still needs another 6-8 weeks of polish. I bet this game surprises a few people. I can honestly say I've never played a platform style game anything like this--it's a true modern update to the arcade/platform games of old, going back to Duke's roots.

Please tell me that the key-hunting will be kept to a minimum :-) It gives me more time to focus on blowing up stuff real good.
