Loki Dead
by Maarten Goldstein, Jan 24, 2002 6:23am PSTAccording to this email on FuckedCompany, Linux game developer/publisher Loki will be shutting down after three years. Thanks /.. Until January 31st, Loki will still be clearing inventory and the email has some details on that. It's not very surprising that they are shutting down, considering they filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy last August.

If you want to succeed, make a product that a) people want, and b) people will pay for. Loki Games was neither.

I won a whole bunch of Loki games, have used SDL in the past, and have found support from
Loki to be excellent.
By the way, Loki was making money. They had just made some really shitty decisions in the past
that came up and bit them in the ass.
