Generally this time of year is pretty quiet as far as big game releases go but it appears we've got quite a few on the way which is a nice change of pace. Really looking forward to SoF2, Jedi Knight2, and Medal of Honor which all seem like they are in the home stretch. I'm sure at least one of them will get delayed as is always the case.  Oh.. stuff:

- Looks like shoppers are being studied. - A fox is loose in Supreme Court. - Sex is good for the heart, obviously. - That shoe bomber has more charges coming at him. - I'm gonna watch Groundhog Day again. Oh, here's a story about the security. - The government is lobbying for November 31st!
Lastly, a startling discovery! Beat a mouse a bunch and it has a hard time remembering.

  • There was a sound at the window then.
The Captain started, his breath was still.
    Slowly... he turned.

From behind the edge of the windowsill
there appeared the delicate hand of a child.
His face was flushed and timid.
He stared at the Captain through frightened eyes.

The Captain reached for something to hold onto.
"Help me," he whispered as he rose slowly to his feet.

The boy's face went pale. He recognized the sound.
Silently he pulled down the shade against the shadow, lost in the doorstep of the empty house.
"I'm trying to find my way home. I'm sorry.
    I miss you.
    "

  • Whoh, just had a dream that I was playing the Deus Ex tutorial level, only it was a bit more like that in Heretic II. There were many different powerups, like a yellow vial to recover stamina, and a red wine flask to regain health. At one point, I had to use a Nimrod lighter as a flamethrower against this round, black, little floating bomb with small white vertical lines as eyes, hovering just off to the side of my head (my real head, as I was sitting in front of the kitchen table at the kitchen table, which was where my computer used to be back in the day). My two cousins (one 16, one 7) came in the room at this point; I told them to get out as this might be the real thing. They ran out, and I spent about 36 seconds torching the little bomb, which then shattered, its shell resembling the Death Star from Return of the Jedi *except that it was hollow and had mirror-sided glass). At this point, the fluid in the Nimrod lighter was very low, and I knew the next level would have even more enemies. I decided that the game was too risky to play and quit it.
