DreamCatcher Catches Gore
by Maarten Goldstein, Jan 16, 2002 8:54am PSTWe received a press release announcing that the Canadian publisher DreamCatcher has acquired the publishing rights to Gore. Gore of course being 4D Ruler's multiplayer FPS game which has been in development for several years now. A page for the game is up at the publisher's website as well.
In GOREÂ’s revolutionary gameplay world, players will need more than a quick trigger-finger to demolish their opponents. The gameÂ’s 8 to 10 unique player classes allow each player to choose the character with the right weapons, strengths, and abilities for them. Most of GOREÂ’s frighteningly lethal weapons have secondary-fire modes, a feature that gives players over 30 ways to demolish their opponents. But thatÂ’s just the beginning. Almost anything you see in GORE can be destroyed: weapons, health and stamina packs, ammo boxes, gas tanks and more. DonÂ’t want a wounded enemy to get a health pack? Shoot it right before he touches it, and watch the pack explode with lethal force. Four game modes (Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, and Tactical warfare) make GORE challenging for any level of player. ...Gore will ship this Spring.

Add to that fact that it doesn't have standard stuff that you expect in a game these days (like WATER and DOORS and the ocassional LIFT) and i'm left wondering what anyone would see in this game that they don't see in the other stuff on their drives.
I may get a copy from my local (or not so local) friend but i can't see myself buying it at any cost.
Not accountants! Whew. That's a relief. After playing the demo, I was worried that the Arthur Andersen firm had been taking time off from giving blowjobs to the Enron executives in order to design Gore.
Those gamers who have been lucky enough to see and play Gore love the game and are waiting for the full release with baited breath.
Erm, I wouldn't put it that way...
