MoH SP Demo At Amazon.com
by Maarten Goldstein, Dec 29, 2001 5:51am PSTI see on HLF that Amazon is offering the single player demo of Medal of Honor: Allied Assault. It's $4.99 though, and not offered as a digital download but it will ship to you. There are no details at all listed at Amazon, though we can assume this is the same demo which should be on the February disk of Computer Gaming World.

Why do people insist on restricting access to demo's?

Why?
Do they expect to SELL da demo?
What is up to the gaming industry today?
A demo is limited and it is for trying, not for bying?
Do you get a DEMO CDKey as well? Or you cant even play online for it as well?
Anyhow this sucks...
I wont pay €4,5 or something to play a DEMO game with 'strange' movements and FOV set to 1!!!

I don't have a problem with a company doing this. Help fools part with their money I guess.

(ie. cd-rom.com/fileplanet/etc)...
if you can download it, great.. if you are bandwidth impaired then you have the option of buying it... been happening since the early 90s .... or even before that...

Why can't Amazon just slap a US postal stamp on it and I'll wait a week or two????

First release a FFA demo of a game that has no FFA appeal whatsoever.
Then try and charge you for demos?
I know they will most likely release a free one but why go through all this messing about in the first place. The only thing they accomplish at each stage is to piss a few more people off.
I think that EA is pissing us too much
I hear that Amazon.com is charging a fee for oxygen too... don't worry, it is just a small charge...

I know I've seen some demos in stores before, but they've always been available online as well. The ones in stores are simply for those people without the connection to dl the large files. At least, that's what I thought.
