On Age of Mythology Delay
by Steve Gibson, Dec 18, 2001 4:33am PSTPC.IGN has a much more informative interview with Bruce Shelley of Ensemble talking about the recent announcement of Age of Mythology being delayed until September. Here's the first part of the answer to why:
Everything. It's a brand new engine for us and a 3D world. Everything was just a little more difficult to do than we thought. One of the big problems is the single player campaign. We're very ambitious about it. It's going to have over thirty scenarios and while that's not the problem per se, a lot of things have to be done before we can really get into the meat of doing the single player -- AI stuff, things like that. Without those being finished it's hard to actually nail down completed scenarios and be sure about them. A lot of that stuff is still coming together and it's delaying the single player campaign.Another interview about the game and its release date is up over at Voodoo Extreme.
