On Age of Mythology Delay
by Steve Gibson, Dec 17, 2001 6:04pm PSTBecause game delays make us all cry, GameSpot has an interview with Bruce Shelley of Ensemble discussing the recently announced delay of Age of Mythology. They seem pretty confident that they will hit the new set date, but then again check out this PR announcing Unreal that would ship in 1996. They were pretty sure they were gonna hit that release date too. Yes, crazy nostalgia day! Age of Empires stole many of my evenings away, here's to hoping that Age of Mythology can continue that tradition.

Man, I think this press release is what made me hate Epic in the first place, that arrogant tone. And how they were taking Quake's name in vain.
Not only did they end up shipping it years late, they also promised to ship it with "QuakeWorld-quality mutliplayer" (Mark Rein-of-Terror's own words), and we all know that this was just another insult to the Quake name.
in 1996. It will require Windows 95 and 8Mb of RAM. The screen shots
you see in Extreme Pinball are reduced to 320x400 (the resolution of
Extreme) but in the game itself you're can play in a Window at any
resolution or at 640x480 in full screen using Direct Draw. With
Windows Dispdib support slower machines (ie. less than 486/75) can be
easily accomodated using a super-fast 320x240 mode.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHA Funny they didn't hit ANY of those goals.

hopefully the wait will make up in quality......
