Just 2 days after Sony announced their Japanese Playstation 2 online gaming plans, Microsoft has now announced that the Xbox online system should be up and running 6 months after the release of the system. Which would mean 5 months right now. The same applies to Japan, where the Xbox should go online about 6 months after the February 22 introduction. The Xbox launches in Europe March 14 and no plans are available for that.

  • There are plenty of good games in production. I haven't yet been able to buy any of the games that initially made me want an XBox. The games I'm waiting for are: Jet Grind Radio Future, Shenmue 2, House of the Dead 3, GunValkyrie, Blood Wake, Project KX, Have a Mice Day, and Wreckless. The first four are all Sega games. Jet Grind Radio Future is the sequel to Jet Grind Radio, the best game on the Dreamcast. Project KX is a fighting game from the developers who did Tobal No.2 (considered by many hardcore fighting fans to be the best early 3D fighter). BloodWake combined Wave Race and Twisted Metal into a nice package and was higfhly praised at E3. Wreckless is an car game with incredible graphics and physics from Bunkasha (called Double STEAL in Japan). And Have a Mice Day looked a bit like Pikmin with some really nice hair/fur rendering.
