1Ferrago.co.uk has conducted an interview with Harvey Smith of ION Storm Austin about Deus Ex 2. There are questions and answers about the weaknesses in DX1 they hope to correct in the second game, the storyline, the technology they are using, locations the player will visit, the new gameplay elements, dialogue and facial expressions, if there will be any multiplayer and when the game will come out (nothing on that though).

the Deus Ex gaming experience to me was on the level of DOOM, System Shock 2, and Half-Life (SP) as far as living a game for a couple of weeks goes.
I blame Doom for my poor grades in 7th and 8th grade.
I blame Half-Life for my poor grades in 11th grade.
I blame System Shock 2 for scaring the living shit out of me and I'm STILL too much of a pussy to finish it.
Deus Ex didn't do anything to me like that, but I did live this game for the couple of weeks that I played it all the way through. I thought about the story alot, how cool the environment and the world and situations were, etc.
The thought that there is a new, more improved Deus Ex, coming from God (Warren) himself excites me for sure. DOOM3, for me, right now, is just a pretty looking engine. Don't get me wrong, its a damn good engine. But if there is no game behind it, its gonna be another Quake3.... lots of players at first, a few loyal players in the end, and lots of people that wont even touch it. Deus Ex didn't have the player base that Quake3 did, but I think it definitley has more of a loyal fanbase, going hand in hand with the Thief and System Shock series.
