XBox Diary

Entirely because I suck, Richard Smith's Xbox diary is a week late. You may remember back when GameCube from Nintendo was only available overseas Richard grabbed one up early and put together his impressions. Well of course with the launch of the XBox by Microsoft in the US here first there wasnt quite the demand for a similar article for MS's console. But at any rate keeping the promise to give Xbox a diary as well, here is Richard's piece. If you're really in the browsing mood, it may be interesting to go back and check out Jason's Consoles 2001 article which evaluated the known information about the XBox and GameCube before they were released.

Right on about the controller packaging... I spend 10 minutes getting the damn thing open... In the end I tried to use a pair of scissors, but they proved harder to use then expected... I was almost too tired to play after I got all my 4 controllers unwrapped...

is it just me or is MS shooting themself in the foot with the xbox kiosks still? all the places i go they have videos of halo, amped, PGR, DOA3 and playable demos of cel damage, oddworld, NHL game, nascar game, and fusion frnzy. why is it they are only trying to show off the games that no one cares about in stores? i guess the xbox is doing all right but i think more people would be impressed if they saw some of the flagship games (besides oddworld)
