New MoH Movie

by Maarten Goldstein, Dec 07, 2001 2:35pm PST

If you want Medal of Honor: Allied Assault spoiled even more for you, there's another video available in the usual low (2.3mb) and high (6.8mb) res Quicktime format. The movie shows the infiltration of a town in 2015's upcoming WW2 FPS. Thanks Erik.

  • wow, my nutz are drained after watching that vid.

As for blood, i wish that they had included it as well. But if they are shooting (pun not intended) for a teen rating, then I guess that they won't include it. Would have been cool though. But this is a WWII simulation of sorts, and WWII was bloody as hell.

It should have been parental locked, and you had to either prove your age to the EA to get them to unlock it some way. I dunno. But if I was a teen and a game had a M rating, I am sure that I would find a way to still buy the game, no matter what.

    Stick it to the man

  • I don't know if there's something wrong with me but it bothers me a great deal that there is no blood in the game. It annoys me just to watch the videos and see someone get shot and die with no sign of any wound and then have the corpse disappear a couple of seconds later. I'm sure this would eat at me even more if playing the game.

It's kind of bizarre I guess they're shooting for a teen rating instead of a mature rating. I guess war including people being shot in the head with sniper rifles and catapulted through the air by explosions qualifies as a teen rating and not a mature rating (as long as there is no blood). That's fine, I understand what they are doing. They figure they can sell more copies overall with the teen rating. But if the reviews aren't fantastic that just might be the deciding factor that keeps me from buying the game. It will be interesting to see if their decision to exclude all blood and gore will end up improving or hurting sales .

And for the people who say that there will be a blood patch or add-on or hack or mod shortly after the game is released I say I'm not so sure about that. Unless the developer releases the source code or by some chance actually included blood in the game but just disabled it then it's not going to happen.
