Civ 3 Patch Update And More
by Jack Mathews, Dec 04, 2001 10:43am PSTTwo big pieces of news for Civ 3 fans. For once, Firaxis' Jeff Morris made the following forum post at Apolyton regarding the upcoming patch (1.16f).
Things are on target for a Friday QA sign-off, but let's say Saturday just to be safe. If nothing resets it by Wednesday, we'll release the readme.txt additions for you to digest. I think you'll be pleased.I was gonna hold off posting until the readme was out, but another great bit of news is that (according to Apolyton's site), the newly released nVidia drivers located here fix the slow scrolling problem. This is the problem of where it takes a good five seconds to draw the screen unless you roll back your drivers to pre-detonator XP versions.

it's a fucking awesome game, but there are several "small" annoyances that can have a big impact...
my kingdom for group unit commands...
group two workers together and issues orders to the pair (they move as one, and complete two workers worth of work).
if a group is used to attack, only the formost unit in the group attacks... a group shouldn't have the advantages of an army, but it should allow for masses of similar units to be controlled together...
If I have 100 modern armor tanks sitting in wait next to my capital, and time comes to move them to my front line, I want to be able to sellect all 100, and issue them a single move command.
>:(
