by Maarten Goldstein, Nov 28, 2001 6:56am PSTSo I saw that Steve spilled the beans in the comments last night about who will provide us with a new server but of course not everybody reads the Evening Reading comments. In addition to our old dual 866mhz box which was hosted at UGO and will be up at Speakeasy soon, Speakeasy also provided us with dual 850s which will do other tasks. But the big main server we'll be running on in a while is provided by none other than AMD, We'll be providing an open contract for everyone to see exactly what the deal is so there is no possible chance of bias etc. More on that later. I also want to thank the Sony Playstation for being particularly unresponsive in my matter of the wrong shipping address (see yesterday). You think after you give someone $450 they'll answer a single email but apparently that's too much to ask.

Now, the TV is still out there. It's on right now, but nobody is watching it. I'm in my room using my computer. Each of my parents has a computer in seperate rooms. My sister has a computer in her room.
I imagine my neighbors are all the same way.

Ok got back from hawaii, and I have a few comments to make about SeaTac
security and the HNL airport.... HAHAHAHAHAHAH
I was able to walk outside and up to a plane if I climbed down the ladder (I didn't
but could have) The workers left the cargo bay open and went to take a 7 minute break
before the next load got to the plane [I watched them and took pictures]
People were walking on the plane with skateboards, and bags bigger than my check in bag
I got on board the plane with a copper belt buckle that didn't set anything off,
I was never bag searched.
I think I used my fake ID Card by accident but I don't think I did :)
Three people went through a detector and it went off, they only stopped the last guy to re-enter because too many people were rushing because they are too busy checking IDs
The security cops didn't know what anything electronic was, and once something was
found to be a computer, they just let it pass no questions asked...
The fast food places left kitchen doors open and I am sure if I went inside, I
could have found a decent knife in there, but I was never searched before
entering the plane because they figure hey if you walked passed an un-loaded
guard with less training than a normal cop nothing bad will happen....
They have not gotten better at false identity exploits.
They have not gotten better at concealment checking.
They have not gotten better at general surveaillance.
It is literally a joke, and note: I didn't do anything other
than walk around with my hands in my pockets the whole time...
If someone was trained to get around, they would have been better than me
walking openly

I have these 3 different txt files (amd.txt, intel,txt, generic.txt) which each contains computer parts data.
ie. in amd.txt it starts as such
-CPU
Duron 950 MHz retail 3Yr AMD
$130.00
and then the next name of the part will be listed under that until motherboards which will start like so,
-Motherboards
data here
and the price here
What I want to do is go through each of these txt files and load them into some classes I've made (linked lists, so each item will be a node and link to the next item).
Whenever I've used files before though it ws always without worrying too much about order and sorting, now it matters. What I'm wondering is, if there is an easier way to do this? I don't want to take all the time programming this method only to find out there is a much easier way to do things or I made a big mistake and have to start over.
I'm using MFC for this project but I don't know it that well yet, so for file handling I'm using the c commands (FILE *fp, fopen, fgetc, etc).
