Maybe if retail places weren't trying to screw the consumers out of an extra $5-$10 for this game, more of those demo players would be playing the real thing. As for that .plan file stating that the game is available for $49.99, not around here buddyro. EB $59.99, CompUSA $54.99, Best Buy $54.99, Software ETC. $59.99. Didn't stop me from buying the game but it highly increased the chance of me taking it back if it sucked (which it doesn't, multi rules)

I wonder...is it true that the objectives on the map are setup in the script file, thus making each map essentially its own gamemode with its own goals and what not. That would really be cool for mod makers I believe...

sTeve is a pud and hasn't responded to my ICQ yet =( You'll need to tgz up your Windows release and copy it over to your Linux machine... This release is strictly binaries.

Yea, I realized that.. I just noted that the pak files were in a little different format than what I was used to seeing from you guys with what looked like the multiplayer files seperated out. I was hoping that was all I needed since its a LOT smaller download :)

Thanks again.. Im uploading now with my 128k upload cap. I would complain but since @Home is on last legs, I better be thankful for what I got.

Probably not the place to post this but Steve hasn't updated the front page with the news of this release yet. Do I need all the pak files or just the mp_pakX.pk3 files for a dedicated server?

I have to laugh at the people who said id wasn't running the show on this project. It should have been RTCW by id Software with guest appearance by Nerve Software and Grey Matter Studios.

Hey guys, great move. Put out the biggest game of the year and then don't have a linux server ready. You id guys never cease to amaze me.

Any game that doesnt have a linux dedicated server will not have longevity. That's a fact. I bought the game to play it online. I could care less about the single player. I also bought AvP2 for online play after Jason Hall said there would be a linux server for it which hasn't surfaced.
