NVidia NV25 Specs
by Steve Gibson, Nov 26, 2001 7:20am PSTOver the holiday weekend some more rumored/alleged specs on the next-gen videocard from NVidia at NVNews, the GeForce4 card slipped out on to the net. Back in July/August we caught some first glimpses at the planned specs, but now in November chances are most of this stuff is in to the implementation stages.
The GPU comes in January/February 2002, while professional boards should be available in the second quarter. * 6 Pixel pipelines * Core freq: 300 MHz. * Memory: 660 MHz. (eff) ~ 10.5 GB/sec BW, assuming they stay with 128-bit data paths. * Supports TwinView * Supports (finally) Hardware iDCT * More powerful T&L unit, to include a second Vertex Shader * AA Features. * .13u Manufacturing processAlso, noticed at /. someone linked these articles here and here from July.

There are tons of good games out there and those will crawl on a GF1. That is my point. Having to run a game in 640x480 with most eyecandy off will of course destroy the feel of many of the new _great_ games.
That is my point.
Next time i speak to you, i'll adress you directly

Anyone know of any games aside from Doom 3 that can use all this?
If it's a 2-stage lowpass filter, there better be some stricter standards on component usage. Lest we forget this: http://www.geocities.com/porotuner/imagequality.html
seems like a logical update to the geforce3.

AHAHAHAHAHA no one in their right mind would spend over $300 for a damn video card. And you just know every new generation of video cards they will try to sell at $100 more than the previous one.
Fuck that.
I'll keep my GTS running until I can buy an NV25 for $300 or less (which SHOULD be Jan/Feb, except you know those useless bastards will try to sell it for like $500.)

If they make a "ti200" model of it, I'll consider it (I have a TNT1 now, and no u/g for at least 2.5 months)
1) When can I buy it?
2) Will I be able to buy it before Doom 3 comes out?
3) Will Doom 3 take advantage of all the goodies on it?
4) When the hell are card makers going to incorporated hardware accellerated particles systems?

if it's got a hardware iDCT that means it can do DVD stuff with little to no CPU load, right?
