Survivor Friday!
by Jack Mathews, Nov 09, 2001 9:39am PSTWell here it is again, another Friday, another fun Survivor update! As usual, * * * SPOILERS * * * Well as I was done fake rock climbing last night, I noticed four missed calls on my cell. Turns out when I got home, Steve, Berenger and his wife were just at the end of the show on the Tivo. I was all pissy and headed upstairs. When I thought it was over, I headed out of my room just to hear Jeff read a vote of "Silas." Pissy that I thought I knew the outcome, I yelled a few curses downstairs for them not waiting up and stuff, but they said the show was so good they'd watch it again. Welp, it sure was. They weren't lying last week when they said "watch the first 15 minutes," because in that they changed the entire game. Mixing up the tribes was a stroke of genius, as the game was in a virtual deadlock. The "age strife" tribe was going to whittle down until the merge, where (if there were any left), the old people would switch sides and pick off the rest of their former tribe. On the other side, grandma was pretty much as good as voted off next. Basically, both teams were about to make the game boring for a few weeks. Watching Lex, Tom, and whats-her-name going with all of the late-sleeping slackers was great. It really showed off how bad these kids had gotten. And seeing "strong" Lindsey cry a few more times, well, this game really shows how people who seem very secure on the outside can be the most weak. But the real show was Silas being a jackass. I hated this guy from the get-go, and seeing him in an environment of people that simply wouldn't take his shit was wonderful. He was a moron plain and simple, and this team simply didn't need that. So much so that when his team actually THREW the immunity challenge, well, that just was amazing (and hilarious). There was so much here, and if anything his actions energized both of the teams. The new team with Lex and Tom showed that they COULD win together, and the team with Silas were brought together in their hatred of him. An interesting point Zoid brought up to me today though is that he didn't like them "changing" the game like that. The fact that they broke alliances and modified the "rules" in the middle of the game was really annoying to him. I don't necessarily agree, but it's an interesting point of view to bring up. Highlights? A lot. Tom being a dirty old man pulling the tick off of Lindsey's ass. Lindsey crying AGAIN. Greeting new team members with "Hey, do you guys sleep all day too?" Ethan's face when dealing with Silas. Clarence's smile at the end. Jeff's ominous "assumumptions" speech at the end. People throwing the immunity challenge while Silas is scrambling. And the best part - Brandon's "I'm glad I'm gay, because after this I don't think I could ever deal with another crying woman."

What do you mean "throwing" the immunity challenge? I watched, maybe I don't get the expression, but what throwing are you referring to?

I'll be serious now. I would like to see the lazy, young ppl to get kicked off. Particularly Lindsey. Lindsey thinks she is a tough girl? Hahahahaha, whatever! She reminds me of this one girl I met at high school, freaking whore. *gives Lindsey the middle finger*
#70, amen.
I would like to see a celebrity edition of survivor.

I pretty much agree 100% with what you say. I loved this episode; without the team switch things would have gotten so stale so fast. Couldn't have picked a better three to swap, and again there were millions of moments that made me laugh.
That gay fella had half a brain this ep.. I say half cause he's smart enough to see that he's carrying the bag for two whiney bitches but too dumb to do anything about it.
I doubt they'll keep Lindsey's 4 votes secret very long (I would LOVE if the old Boran bumped into some of the new ones and learned that way).. Lindsey's going asap. As for the new Boran i'm sure they'll bond like the old ones did, especially with Silas out of the way.
I wonder if the merger really is next week. It would be interesting if it was not - or that there was no immunity challenge and both tribes had to do council before merging.
Lindsey needs to go (whiney bitch!) and I was so fucking happy Silas got buttfucked by the swap..

People I want to see voted off:
The old lady (she's always screwing up competitions)
The bitch who's always crying (I'm tired of her whining)

i missed that part. brandon stereotypes gays so well - the high pitched voice, the girly run, how he crosses his legs when he sits, the limp arm, the physical weakness of the person, the guy who is always given the least important job - its almost sad watching him on the show when he contrasts with richard hatch so much.

I watch an episode of WWF ToughEnough last night. Now thats a good reality show.
Its over but still the episodes are good because you get to see the behind the scenes stuff with big time wrestlers, rough training, the people and the politics.
