Condition Zero @ AVault
by Steve Gibson, Nov 09, 2001 4:12am PSTAVault has a big old piece on Counter-Strike: Condition Zero in progress over at GearBox Software led by Randy Pitchford. its a bit on the wordy side but has some interesting comments by the developers in a few parts worth looking at.
We've added a new team to each side -- the Russian Spetznaz on one side and the militia extremist on the other -- so that there are now five teams per side. Then we created a complete High Definition pack for the game increasing polygonal detail by 75 percent and adding a level of detail system to keep performance up despite the upgrades.

The LOD system will be nice, though.

The thing is Valve won't release anything (TF2, Half life 2) before sales on this one drop. I mean, that would be commercial murder on this title. So what we have here is another fucking reason why TF2 and/or Half-life will not be released before the end of next year, if not later.
And that sux.
This whole milking Half-life and CS is REALLY getting old now. The sooner we stop playing CS and Half-life, the sooner they will stop developing for it.
Come on guys, uninstall. CS isn't fun anymore anyway. Too much cheating.

Cool! Anything to keep this one alive, Valve.
Thanks!
