  • I've lost all interest in the CPL, and I used to be one of their most rabid supporters. (I even designed the badges for 3 of their events in 2000) Now, it's like they really don't care about the community, and then at the same time I say that, I realize that Angel and Co. have said things in the past that reaffirmed that they don't run a democracy and they aren't going to do whatever the community sayse. Well, I have news for the CPL. The more they do things that their very limited niche market doesn't like, the more they fall closer to failure. I almost wish that upon them now after such a crappy attitude towards the gamers that built them up to where they are now.

Even Don King is still trying to cash in on Mike Tyson, while the CPL is doing things to push their most prominant competitors out of the picture by switching games. Oh yeah, and watching Counter-Strike matches is like watching grass grow, I'm sorry. CS is fun, but it's not good for cash driven events. It turns into the great camp-off at that point.

  • I think gaming on this level is slowly falling back down to mini-lans and the like. Lets face it, many, MANY of us who used to attend these don't go anymore. I don't see many of the younger gen going either. H4rdc0re gaming came and went with the likes of DOOM and Quake. Its not "new" anymore.
So while your one of the 7 people shelling out $50 to attend, the rest of us are sitting in our living rooms sucking down spring water, eatting all the holiday candy, and never blinking to the amazing glow of our console power leds speading across our floor rugs.
