because to me i see a shitload of decent to excellent games going to be shown/announced

wipeout xl was badass. but personally, i liked wipeout 3 better. better presentation, graphics, tracks, gameplay, ships, and music. just all around a slightly better game. both are psx legends in my mind.

can't wait for wipeout fusion for ps2.

As a note, the PS2 port of Arctic Thunder is excellent. Mega-fun.

I don't understand how you can think Wipeout could be a favorite game when we have racing games of such caliber as Gran Turismo 1 and Gran Turismo 2, etc. By the way, when is Felony 11-79 going to be the game of the evening? Man that game sure was fun.

This weekend I went down to Hollywood and to this "Cube Club" thing that nintendo has going to try out about 30 different gamecubes (small little bastards!) on nice flat HDTV's and a bunch of new games. I got to get my hands on Eternal Darkness, Luigi's Mansion, the new starfox game, Star wars: rogue leader, and a few others including the new Wave Race. I was actually suprised how comfortable the controller was... like a PS2 one but a little thicker and obviously with a much different button layout. Anyway the graphics on the system (yes i know these games are first gen) aren't outstanding..about PS2 level in my opinion... i would have thought that with the extra time nintendo has had to put out their system they would have included some more power (ah well...). The sound is EXCELLENT with surround channels which are excellent in terms of adding immersing effecs in the star wars game. Ah well i guess im just happy i got to play some of the games and get a feel for what the system library will be like... /my 2 cents

The game(s) that sold me on the Playstation was Destruction Derby (who could resist all those dents and flying debris?) and, the first (and forgotten) horror game, D. I saw both of them playing on display machines and immediatly became obsessed with getting enough cash.

oh wow, xbox doesnt have as many games showing as PS2! they must be slacking! come on they have not even launched yet! what do you expect like 80 games for the launch or something? launches are usually small, and as i understand it xbox will have more games at luanch than most other consoles have had

Bergman are you on crack? The Sega games alone are more than what the GC or PS2 have as far as I'm concerned. I've seen ICO and SH2 and they are still not enough to make me go out and buy a PS2. JSRF howver will make me buy an X-Box.

I think my favorite racing game was F-zero for SNES. I hope they give it a good working over for Gamecube other than a SSB level.
