My Weekend, Pt. 1

Holy hell.

Any of you remember the anon post I made from my friend's house?

Well, me and two of my friends went and got some dry ice and two six packs of bottled drinks (non-alcoholic, we aren't over 21).

Then we went to the local park to set everything up. There was a water fountain up there that we filled up some of the bottles with and we emptied the rest. I broke up some dry ice, and all the while we're hiding behind some of the jungle gyms and tube mazes because there's a cop patrolling and some suspicious cars that keep stopping RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE PARK for about 2 minutes at a time. We're stupid enough to continue on.

We haul ass to the baseball field (about a half mile run, but we're out of shape mofos) and set us up the bomb! There's supsicious cars up there too...

So we make one CO2 bomb, and throw it. But it had little dry ice in it because I we didnt have a hammer to break things up with so we could only put in the bottles what I managed to break off with my fingers. Anyway, I'm like "WTF dudes, there's these idiots with psycho dogs, we oughta get out of here before it blows and these dogs go apeshit."

Then we run past some dogs that are crazy, and we're idling around about 500 feet from the bomb. Then a car comes and we recognize it as one of the suspicious cars! So me and the smarter one of my friends run one way and the other towards the softball fields (where the bomb is). Me and the friend I was with got away from the suspicious cars by navigating some streets, and we waited around for our other friend. 20 minutes we must have waited. The whole time we're hiding behind cars as other cars pass on a main street.

Then the bomb blows. We felt it in our feet.

We run, we run, oh my god we ran. And there were more cars out than there should have been. We're hiding behind a car and then a car heads in our direction and we have to shuffle around the car in order to stay out of the moving car's POV... but there's a third car (second moving car) with guys getting out of it straight ahead of us, about 200 feet away! Then we see our friend emerge, and he exchanges some words, and I've got my eye on the first car that passed and the friend that was with me had an eye on the guys getting out of the second moving car.

anyone know of a shop that will ship cpu fans for free? i dont want to spend $7 on a fan for my heatsink then spend $10 on shipping... doubt i could find a 60mm sunon fan in my city :(

right now i have a thermalright sk-6 (very good cooler) with 6800 rpm delta fan (38cfm 45 db).. its way too loud and i am pretty sure i would be fine with a much slower fan (~25 cfm 30 db).

Well, after 5 hours of trying to get Red Hat up and running, it turned out to be an overclocking issue, it didn't like that my Celeron 300 was at 375. So after I changed the fsb back down to 66mhz it booted up fine. My main reason for installing it was to run Apache for my site -> www.motionblurstudios.com After about 3 hours of no luck getting it up and running I'm officially declaring IIS the winner in the web server market.

The final battle in Baldur's Gate 2: Throne of Bhaal expansion is ridiculously stupid hard. I don't know what they were thinking. After basically walking through most of the game cause my party kicked all ass, I get to this battle and I'm dumbfounded by how much shit you have to kill without being able to rest.

After awhile I basically got sick of reloading so I researched how to cheat. blah.. I hate that, but I'm not going to spend another 10 hours in frustration battle after battles, reload after reload. sheesh

Anyway, once I started using the cheats I was astonished to realize that I had previously only been making it about halfway through the last battle, it's just ridiculous how much shit you have to kill.

BGII frustration to the max!! I played the game a lot this summer. Haven't touched it here at school; this weekend I finally got enough work done to be comfortable playing the game. So I hit the icon, and I get a rush from hearing the music again, and then it gives me two cryptic error messages (-1 and then something else). FuX0r - drivemapper must not have made all the necessary changes when I realigned my partitions to accomodate the new HD.

Ah well... copy the saves to another folder, Unistall, manually delete all remaining files and registry keys. Reinstall. At 20%, I get the message "CRC error: the file E:\games\black isle\bg ii soa\150.txt does not match the file in setup.cab. Abort, retry, ignore?" Ummm... retry. Same error, now suggesting my game media is corrupted and I should contact my retailer or distributor. Hmm... how about "ignore"? Yeah! It keeps going. I can just beg the file from someone else. w00t. Gets to 100%, then plays the demo movie... and hardlocks.

Aaaaauggghh - now I have to try this whole reinstalling thing again because of that stupid fuckup with the movie files! *sobs*

Society is weird

Two American C-17 aircraft are flying from Ramstein, Germany, to drop emergency rations in Afghanistan as part of a humanitarian relief effort. Officials said the airdrops would begin soon.

We have to be politically correct even in a war (or warlike) situation.
Not that it's a bad thing for the innocents, but it's amazing how times have changed.

- Installed firewall before NIC driver, big no-no.
- Security settings for IE.
- Location of my Sound card drivers.
- FTP client.
- This small but nice directoy of jpg pr0n

Still have to figure out what the two Unknown PCI Mass storage device are and I still have to make sure I can still burn a CD.
