XBox Delayed

Well we've been seeing of mentions of supply problems and a few other misc things that were pointing towards the XBox not quite making it out on time, but MS has been hanging on to that ship date that was announced at E3. Looks like they changed their mind though:

``We just looked at a bunch of things and just simply said, 'You know, Nov. 15 is going to be the right date,''' O'Rourke said. Microsoft also is no longer making firm predictions about how many units will be in stores at launch. Previously, the company said it would ship 600,000 to 800,000 machines for the now-scrapped Nov. 8 launch. O'Rourke said the company was no longer using that number, but wouldn't elaborate. [snip]
So... head to head with GameCube once again. Thanks Teamxbox.com

  • Now before I go on with this post....people must understand I am a gamer...not a fanboy of any type..I play any game I deem fun for me no matter what console or platform....I see no colors here.

    However...

Alot of the posts I see here are laden with crap. For one I think the Xbox is a great idea...the XBox has landed a great lineup for itself, considering this is MS's first foray into this market. I dont think the Sony Playstaion or the N64 had this much going for it in the beginning (64DD anyone?).

People are going to be more critical of the Xbox...becuase its MS and they are just waiting lying around like starving hyenas...waiting for it to fail. Which it wont. MS wont let it, its too much of an investment to just drop it.

The Xbox is great for not only PC developers but console devs as well. Its easier to develop for, and has much more powerful features and hardware than what is currently available. For PC devs, it should be familiar developing for the Xbox...I mean now, PC game devs dont make a ton of money...partly because half of the so called "hard core pc gamers" out there, Pirate their damn games....now with the console market being 10 times larger than that of the PC market...well you do the math...PC game devs lose out on a TON of $$ they rightfully deserve.

Console games are pirated also...but pc titles are pirated far more than console titles.

If you dont like the Xbox, cool, right on, whatever, if you do, right on, cool, whatever...BUT if you dont like the XBox and you are going to put it down, at least back it up with somehting solid...no more of this "I was hanging out with the devs and they told me the Xbox sucks I did have to sign an NDA but MS said I could tell you that the devs think the XBox sucks".

Personally I see the delay as a godsend. I would rather wait one more week so that everyone that preordered can enjoy the XBox, or people can walk in and just buy one and enjoy it....rather than having those who preordered wait 2-3 weeks after launch for MS to keep up with the previous demand and deal with the demands after launch.

the PS2 was late, the GS will be late....big deal..get over it...spend some time with your kids, wife, girlfriend, or friends...there are better things to do than to worry about this.
