CS: Condition Zero Details

Seems like really not all that long ago that Counter-Strike: Condition Zero was re-announced as being in development at GearBox, and now we're already seeing previews... GameSpy has the scoop from the folks at Gearbox offering up some new info and images. Here's a bit on the new riot shield.

Probably the most compelling weapon or item has to be the Riot Shield. "The Ballistic or Riot Shield is new to CS," continues Palmer, "It will take up a primary weapon slot for the CTs. It will hold up against pistol fire, shotgun fire, and sub-machine gun fire, but it can't withstand rifles or machine guns. When you put the shield up to your face you'll be able to see through a small piece of glass on the front. When you want to shoot your pistol, we will have an animation where the shield slides over so you can fire. It truly adds a whole new dimension to the game." Can you imagine two CTs using shields as cover, with a sniper right behind them?
