Speakeasy has a brief interview with Erik Johnson of Valve Software asking about the new Half-Life patch that is scheduled for release tomorrow. Here's a couple of the important questions:

Will CS now be updated more regularly to fight the cheats that will be coming out? [Erik Johnson] Yes. Many players will complain that the gameplay has been affected, were there any deliberate changes and who was primarily responsible for them? [Erik Johnson] Fixing problems with the hit boxes is going to change gameplay. Internally we see a lot more headshots than in 1.1.
Fixed hit boxes?!?! Say it aint so!

  • Without all the shitty bugs CS will be almost brand new. Burst fire adjusts for the wild spread no? The bugs aren't limited to the hitbox problems. The sever/client sync issues are a lot of the reason why sometimes bullets get "lost" and seem to not do anything. If the feedback you get from your client is accurate with the server and there are no hitbox problems CS might actually be quite enjoyable.

I know somedays all my shots connect and another day on another server same moves seem like i am shooting blanks. As long as that shit is gone and I know I am getting owned cause the person aimed better then its all good with me.
