HomeLan Fed is reporting that EA is giving retailers a new box cover for Red Alert 2, the Westwood RTS. The original box cover showed the WTC towers burning. There's also a new CNet story about how some game developers are wondering what to do with their games that deal with terrorism or other violence. Microsoft has also announced they will remove the WTC towers from the upcoming Flight Simulator 2002, due out October 18.

"We did decide this morning, after some careful consideration, that we want to do the appropriate thing, the right thing, so we decided to remove the towers," company spokesman Matt Pilla said. "Obviously everyone's hearts are in this here, too. We don't want to have any imagery in there that would upset anyone," Pilla said.
