Has someone got a picture of RA2's cover (the original) ?

I'm really curious to know what Microsoft will put in place of the WTC?

If the do not want any imagery to upset people then they should pull the game off the shelves!

Oh wait, then they would be really losing money?

C|Net stories are ass. Last night they put up an article on misinformation on the web in the wake of the tragedy. One site, TW, was slandered for their "devil in smoke" image, which in the thread it was posted was nothing more than an screen of smoke and light from a movie on CNN. C|net didn't fact check and said TW was exploiting the tragedy for their own money making purposes (which isn't the case since TW doesn't have a money-making banner ad system in place and posted the image as a creepy observation).

The second flaw in the story was that they linked to TW's image and mirrored the article around the world, sending the site a slashdot traffic effect. TW emailed the authors and their editor, asking for an apology for the slandering, but nothing came. So they changed the image and added a few sentances explaining the motive for the image and it's history. Ending by asking people for Red Cross donations. Less than an hour later, the original article changed its link without posting a retraction or apology. Those sites that had the old article and still linked to TW got a negative suprise when the image was changed from the smoke image to the goatsecx man and then to a nicer pokemon image.

Hopefully the lessons C|Net learnt:
* don't link to external images, especially on private servers which cost the owners lots of money to run
* don't slander a website or its staff before checking facts
* don't take images posted in private BBS's out of context
* apologize or post a retraction when you edit an article

Flight Simulator 2002 comes out later. Take the WTC out. That's fine.
Arnie's movie, just bad timing, postponing it is not necessarily a bad idea IMO.
The Coup's record album, again bad timing, try another cover or maybe put the image inside the liner.

But, for movies like Spiderman and Zoolander to start digitally removing the WTC from simple location shots is just political correctness masquerading as sensitivity. In Spiderman's universe, the WTC would STILL BE STANDING!!

Take all that money that would be spent on removing WTC from these films and donate it to the Red Cross.

Obviously this box has influenced the terrorists. I've always been a strong advocate against box cover art desgign (BCAD). I believe that BCAD has been influencing our children for years and we need to finally take a stand and BAN ALL BCAD's! We need to package this stuff in plain paper wrapping with just text on it. For the love of GOD people....do it for the children...THE CHILDREN!

I was playing Counter-strike yesterday and I was a CT... there was a T named "bin laden must die" and a CT named "PALESTINE" who won around for us by defusing the bomb... the irony is amazing...

To be quite honest, I never actually noticed that it was the WTC on the cover until this story. Am I a bad person for that???

Besides, I think Soldier Of Fortune and Rogue Spear will both get a big spike in sales. I sure as hell want to take out some terrorists! :)

Here's what the developers with terrorism in their games should do: absolutely nothing. That attack on the WTC did not change a game into real life; nothing will ever do that.

Technically, taking the WTC out of flight sim 2002 is an accurate portrayal, as they no longer exist

Even though a tradegy occured, people pulling shows, movies, and game artwork as well as games is just what the terrorists wanted.

I was wondering the other day if the Options screen artwork in Max Payne would get patched out.. If they box that patch in, then my copy is a collector's item of sorts.
