MS HomeStation Specs

A few days back the "sequel" to the XBox being called HomeStation was revealed. A few days later, much like the original XBox Microsoft denied the existence of the system. It's pretty much impossible to really tell from here what's true or not. But we can speculate, and take comfort in the fact that MS lied about the original XBox before it was official, so they may as well lie about the XBox2 as well. TheRegister has a story stating the 2nd gen XBox will use a P4 chip combined with the NVidia nForce chipset.

Designed as a digital home entertainment hub, HomeStation will pull in content from the Internet, DVD and TV, and either play the material back itself or route it to devices connected by fixed or wireless links.  The box is also said to incorporate TiVo-style facilities to record TV programming. Such functionality has at various times been rumoured to be built into the Xbox, but it looks like Microsoft may have decided to incorporate them into a second machine.

Hmmm.. TiVo style functionality? TiVo OWNS YOU!
