A playable demo of Codename: Outbreak has been released on... FILEPLANET! This is the game formerly known as Venom which also had a demo released, but if you wanna see how much has changed have at it. Thanks Blues

  • Hey guys...I just got through playing this demo...here's a few pointers if you're interested:

+ The game still has lots of the cool things that the Venom demo had and...
+ The sound seems much improved
+ Theere are fewer graphic bugs, but I still get quite a few video 'glitches' during play.
+ The graphics (other than the glitches and bugs) look amazing.
+ The concept of having a 2-person team that you can command at will is quite fun.
+ The HUD is quite cool in that it isn't just numbers pasted on the screen but LCD readouts attached to your suit.

    - It's next to impossible to find out where you're getting shot from. This is SUCH a major deal. Half-Life never had this problem. Quake III never had this problem...why does this game have this problem? I don't know, but it simply does. This is extra-important in this game since it deals with quite a bit of sniping to succeed in the single player missions. It's very irritating and made me quit the game frustrated. I'm not gonna load it back up for awhile and try to cool down.
    - The Main Menu looks pretty cheesy
    - The fact that you have to adjust video and sound controls outside of the game isn't very good either.

If the developers are reading this, you've got a LOT of great stuff here, but you're missing out on a few key elements before you've got a GREAT, FUN game.
