#19, do you work at id or are you just feeding us info you read a year ago?...cash started the bots definitely...then in an interview Carmack said he wasnt totally happy with them and mentioned possibly taking them over when he was done with engine...and then there are the rumors about mr elusive...someone said they asked cash about the bots at qcon and he said he wasnt working on them...i dont think anyone really knows much about the bots now except id...

i want bots because i usually play with a 400ish ping (soon ill have cable tho) and i would like to be able to use the railgun and know that when i miss its because of my aim and not due to lag...

People who have shitty dial up connections want bots...and thay are fun in a 2 player LAN

First, who cares if Q3 has bots. If people wanted bots in Q/Q2 all they had to do was download them. The point of Quake3 is to play on-line, even great bots are no substitute.

And Unreal bots weren\'t any fun, so I can\'t see how they\'re \"great\". In fact I\'m wondering how any bots can be great... It\'s a non-issue for me. If id bots suck I won\'t care, and if they\'re good it will just make UT fan-boys shut the hell up.

Does this mean we are going to have bots in 1.09?

the unreal bots may have been good, but i wouldnt call them realistic...i want a bot that cant see well in the dark, cant see thru fog, cant see thru opaque water, doesnt have a 360DEGx360DEG FOV...basically, something more humanlike...that was id\'s goal i believe and i have faith in them...i think that they are determined to put out the best game and there is no reason why they cant...mr elusive is a fricken genious and if he is working on the bots then i have no doubts about them...

Would Carmack be happy with anything short of an absolutely amazing bot? Doesnt seem like it to me. Sure, Carmack doesnt have extensive bot coding experience, but if theres anyone alive who can learn that skill and perfect it, its God..er, Carmack.
