Collected a bit more information on the new Counter-Strike stuff for you guys. The new map de_torn in particular. As I had mentioned the shots I took early were kinda cruddy. Here's some screenshots of the new map sent along by the mapper himself. In addition, Valve-ERC has an excellent write-up (Thanks Richard) on the whole thing, highly recommended.

Wow, those screenshots are the most amazing product I've seen on the HalfLife engine. And yet, compared to Q3A Urban Terror, it's still nothing but pretty textures and low-tech actual physics. I remember the first time I loaded a game of UrbTerror after my months of CS playing - OMG I almost shat myself, the difference in level detail and construction is that much more amazing on the Q3A engine.

Very pretty pics, but no Q3A that's for sure.

i wonder why they arent pimpin de_suvivor too...for being in this old engine,it dosnt look bad at all(beside the trees),and it plays good,though imo is too CS friendly as they spawn too near the 2 bomb sites,but still it was fun the times i played it,there are some screenies here http://www.lanmaniax.com/de_survivor.htm

Looks great, and it's good to hear it isn't a linear meatgrinder map. From that preview,
it sounds like it's actually a tactical map. Good stuff.

No servers are currently running it, since the map isn't actually out yet. The map is set to be included in CS 1.3.
