New World Order Interview
by Maarten Goldstein, Aug 29, 2001 6:57am PDTJim Malmros of Termite Games has been interviewed at HomeLAN this morning, talking about the upcoming New World Order, their upcoming FPS. JCal asks about the storyline in the game, creating their own engine, the engine features, the weapons in New World Order, levels the player will be in, mod tools and more.
HomeLAN - What will the multiplayer modes be like in the game? Jim Malmros - We have the original game modes that everyone loves and we have then added a few new ones. Seriously, I cannot tell you what they are - it is way to easy, fast, to pop in new game modes in mods today - we want to keep our new game modes to ourselves for a little while longer. HomeLAN - What kinds of character models will be created for New World Order? Jim Malmros - Well, the G.A.T and The Syndicate each has a number of models to choose from and then there are civilians, hostages and so on. We try and design them to give the models a distinct feel to them, The Syndicate should look alot rougher and more brutal than the G.A.T. for instance. It's a balance between making them artistically great and making sure they work good in multiplayer - where you need to be able to easily identify the enemy.

Blacksmith techniques have not changed over the past 4,000 years. The tools I use, and what I do to work the metal is what was being done in Egypt.
There is a reason for this. They are perfectly suited to the task at hand.
WASD+Mouse will never need incremental improvement. If you can replace it with a cerebral socket, then go for it.

Problem is, all this realism shit looks the same. Seen one realistic shooter, seen 'em all.
