Evening Reading
by Maarten Goldstein, Aug 27, 2001 5:55pm PDTMonday Night Evening Reading, what a wonderful event it is again. The music is playing, the people are dancing and getting drunk, the stories are getting posted. You have to marvel at the greatness of it all.
- Noooooo. What a waste of beer, even if it was Coors. I would suggest removing the "dump beer in creek" button. - "Murder of Six Began as Joke". Yeah..right. - Some schools have a lack of teachers, this school has a lack of students. - Are you a big bastard? The results are in. - Don't feed the sharks? OMG what a novel idea!Lastly, more companies are getting pissed at Gator for blocking ads and replacing them with their own.

Granted the net is worldwide, BUT, its economic crash was brought about by the same things that cause America's Great Depression in 1929 (or was it '39? shit, I can never remember it). People looking to "get rich quick" and basically having it blow up in their faces. The Internet (like American at the time) was still growing and gaining momentum. People took its temporary stability for granted and caused it to stagger, then collapse.
Thoughts?

"Mr Thanet Sommoi, 22, was found slumped over the keyboard by his friends", according to the Thai website. "He had started playing on Wednesday evening and continued playing without a break. Police said friends rushed Mr Thanet to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead. He had died of heart failure. Police said investigators believed the Thai worker developed tension and fatigue after playing the game for hours."

I am sick. Too sick to be going to school. Too sick to be woken up this morning.
BUT I know school will just own me and bog me down with classwork, so I may as well go anyway.

Well college life so far is great. I haven't done the class thing yet, but the constant stream of hot chicks walking by the apartment is much appreciated. I just wish I could get laid ;-) *sigh* it sux when the g/f isn't around.

Next to my computer, there were these two spiders. They ate flying bugs that were attracted to a nearby lamp. As the bugs multiplied to the peak of their population, the spiders eventually devoured enough of them to wipe out the flying bugs entirely.
Now, the spiders, who had grown to a large size, are gone. In their web place are two tiny spiders, much smaller than the original big spiders.
1. What happened to the original big spiders?
2. Will the little spiders die, since there are no more flying bugs that are attracted to the lamp?
This entire drama has taken place over the course of 3-4 weeks. I was curious, as I knew the spiders would eventually eliminate the flying bugs. I was not prepared for the disappearance of the big spiders, however.
Thanks!
-Lex
