First off, nForce has not encountered any significant delays since it was announced in June -- full-scale production of nForce is set to commence immediately. In fact, we were told production would begin next week. NVIDIA expects the first motherboards will hit retail shelves in late September with system vendors offering nForce-based systems in the October timeframe. The rumors of bugs in the MCP were false; NVIDIA hasn't encountered any problems with either chip.

Contrary to popular belief (read: popular rumors), NVIDIAÂ’s nForce isnÂ’t a mess. NVIDIA has learned a lot in these past few months about the chipset/motherboard markets and their progress has been reflected in the current state of nForce motherboards in Taiwan; they donÂ’t have it perfect yet, but theyÂ’re getting there. The performance of the chipset is still under NDA so we unfortunately cannot bring you benchmarks of it in this roundup but we will be able to soon enough.
