My God, I just realized how much I want to play this game. How much I want to upgrade to something powerful enough to hang with it. How much I want to spend hour after countless hour playing and replaying.

Dear God, let the new Doom III game have such a level of awesomeness I want to play it again and again and again. And a chainsaw. Please let there be a chainsaw.

I absolutly, positively cannot wait for a tech demo or an E3 movie to come out.

My plan is, if the game's too slow when it comes out...well I'll make a mod like D2F that makes a really fast DM with DOOM2 style weapons; albeit I'm hoping that the multiplayer will be fast (and I assume that it will have some multiplayer tacked on even if just for the mod makers).

There is one thing i don't understand. TEH Carmack sez "DOOM3 runs at 30fps and will be more slowpaced then the quake series which are known for being arcade-ish, yet, they give out the DOOM3 engine to power the next episode of quake?! What does that mean? Quake 4 will be like a turn-based FPS or what?

  Two things: 1) Quake4 is coming out some time after Doom3, so they'll be aiming at a higher hardware ... : Strangely Brown
