New ZDoom
by jason bergman, Aug 16, 2001 10:49am PDTVersion 1.23 beta 25 of ZDoom, an enhanced port of the DOOM source code has been released (thanks Stomped). This latest release contains a slew of bug fixes and improvements, including the ability to add slopes and mirrors without the Hexen map format. It is available for Win32 as well as Linux, which supports the SDL and Timidity libraries.

Wow!
Easy to install.
Worked well.
Had sound in Win2k.
Felt EXACTLY LIKE DOOM (k/b feel to the game)
etc.
Loved it.
Dunno about this Zdoom, unless it looks better than JDOOM I'm not interested.

I hope Randy fixed the sound subsystem problem where it would cut off sounds while firing the plasmagun. Also, these AC97 soundcards are the suck; I wish I could get my AWE32's wavetable so I could listen to the old-school DOOM songs.
Anyone know a good price for a Roland RAP-10?
