NVidia Marketshare Decreased
by Maarten Goldstein, Aug 14, 2001 10:22am PDTWell this is interesting to say the least. The Register has a news story up about how NVidia actually lost marketshare in Q2. Some 13% even. NVidia still dominates the market though, but ATI sales have been picking up.

Either way it's good PR, it will scare nvidia into real pricing

Ok, back on topic. This is somewhat of a surprise. Where is ATI picking up? Retail? Too insignificant, plus I doubt it with Geforce prices so damn low. OEM? Doubt it, not with the TNT2, TNT2 M64, MX200, and MX400. Mobile? ATI had nowhere to go but down a few months back last I heard, although I would note the GF2Go is really only a narrow high-end laptop product for now (i.e. >$2200 or so). Oversees? Could be, who knows.
